About Me:I'm 39 years old, 5' 10", black hair, brown eyes, and have been bowling since I was about 10. I have a 14 year old daughter whom I adore and like to spend time with, whenever she's not busy with her friends, which is rarely.
Music:Some of my favorite groups right now are Nickelback, Godsmack, Disturbed, Hinder, and Shinedown. Plus I like all the classic 80's music, and the original, first wave of rap music, back when it was good.
Movies:Give me a good action/adventure or comedy anyday!
TV:Reality TV sucks. Never watched it, never will. I like the Simpsons, Family Guy, 24, Heroes, Las Vegas and of course, the PBA on Sunday.
Books:I'm a big fan of Terry Brooks, and have read everything he's put out so far. I also have read alot of Dan Brown's books. I've just recently begun looking into the Left Behind series. I just started book #3.
Likes:Italian food, Pepsi, dark chocolate M&Ms, Barnes & Noble, Wisconsin Dells and Culvers burgers.
Dislikes:Spicy food, diet anything, cold weather, mean people.
Hobbies:Bowling, golfing, softball, volleyball, reading, net surfing, and try to exercise 3 or 4 days a week.
Vices:I guess my one big vice is playing poker. I play online almost every day, and on Saturdays, I play at Potowotami for a few hours.
Oh, and dark chocolate M&Ms....
Virtues:Always striving to be the best I can be at whatever I do. Always be honest, friendly and be a gentleman.
So I'm bowling on my Wed night 1025 league, which is my favorite league/house to bowl in. Started out the night great....278 with a stupid 8 spare in the 6th when I decided I didn't want to follow through on the release. D'oh!
Anyways, the next game, it's like someone turned off my in the zone switch. I lost both lanes, coming high, going light, whatever. I shoot a 205 clean. Good thing I'm a good spare shooter.
The last game comes up, and I'm kinda worried because I have no idea what's happening now. Every adjustment I made was the wrong one, and I'm more worried about blind doubles, because my partner wasn't exactly lighting the lanes up. We were in 4th place after 2 games.
Well, he decides he's going to go into the zone the last game and busts out a 268. Then someone flipped my switch back on and I shoot 258, running the front 7 before I left to 10 pins in the 8th and 9th for a 743 series, and we leapfrog into first place.
Oh, what could've been if I had a decent second game.....

Yesterday was the 6th (or maybe 7th?) annual 102.9 The Hog Bob & Brian Charity bowl at Classic Lanes in Milwaukee. My team and I have bowled every one since the beginning, and we've won twice. It's a non-sanctioned competition, all pure fun, free food, live band, each time you get a strike on a colored head pin, you get to pull a prize. Everyone there is basically there just to eat, drink themselves silly, and have a great time, which it always is.
It's handicapped at like 80% of 240, so the handicap ratings are outrageous. My team shot 3450, and we came in 2nd, behind a 3558. I was getting 37 pins for three games, shot 707 scratch, and didn't make the top 10! lol. An 841 won it all, and he was getting 228 pins!!! Wow. lol
Like I said, it wasn't about the competition, since this is one of the few occasion I can bowl with pretty much nothing on the line: no brackets, pot games, prize money or anything. (OK, we did have a card game going between us, but hey, it's only a buck. lol.)
I did manage to go 8 for 10 on the colored pin strikes, getting stuff like a CD, free lunches at George Webbs, gift cards for a couple of different stores around town, a T shirt, and a water bottle from this health care service place that I just found out today had more stuff inside, which was cool.
I love tournies like this, and 9 pins too, because I can relax and have a nice time with my friends. There's no pressure to do all that well, and I can try new stuff if I want to without it costing me anything. It's like a nice practice session. lol
Willow Creek is alot of fun.I go in April can't wait.....
